The search dialog now allows to ignore date when searching. Although the UI is
a bit confusing as the date entry boxes are always enabled and the option for
whether or not to use them is in the next line. 

Anyway, the "search irrespective of date" functionality is there. So I'm
closing this bug. Thanks.
