I am running akonadi on another computer with openSUSE Tumbleweed:
  Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200717
  KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.3
  KDE Frameworks Version: 5.72.0
  Qt Version: 5.15.0
  Kernel Version: 5.7.7-1-default

On that computer there is NO issue with akonadi.
