Retrieving Folder Contents Screenshot

SUMMARY KMail has become completely unusable with Gmail via IMAP. Tried
checking "download messages for offline use" under the "receiving tab" "general
tab" from the IMAP Account Settings but that did not fix it. Upon reboot I
always get prompted for a kde wallet password with the message "The application
Akonadi_imap_resource_2 has requested to open the wallet 'kdewallet' I saw
similar bugs reported with the solution to kill Akonadi but that doesn't work
either because when you stop that service you get the message "the Akonadi
personal information management service is not running. This application cannot
be used without it." And forces you to restart the service. KMail is completly
unusable.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Kmail
2. Click on any email message to view
3. "Retrieving Folder Contents please wait" message appears

OBSERVED RESULT

"Retrieving Folder Contents please wait" message appears

EXPECTED RESULT

The actual email message to appear.
