Marcus, your version has now long been unsupported. Is there any chance you can
try to reproduce this with a recent version of KMail (>= 5.0 or >= 15.08.0)? If
you are able to reproduce it, can you provide a message as an attachment that
is displayed as plaintext, but should be displayed as HTML?
