            Bug ID: 360923
Summary: [compatibility] broken characters in subject, if it is
                    splitted violating RFC
           Product: kdepim
           Version: GIT (master)
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: messagelist
          Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: kde at mva.name

Hi!
Unfortunately, it is 5 am here, so I can't remember (and can't google for it
right now) the number of RFC describing subject header splitting rules, but I
do remember, that it forbids splitting characters and states that split should
be before the first byte of the character in that case.

And also I do remember, that there probably was similar bug in old kmail from
the times of kde3.

Anyway, the problem is in that fact, that messagelist doesn't concat that
splitted-in-the-middle characters in the Subject header, and render two (in
case of utf8) diamonds instead.
Other clients (Thunderbird, Outlook and so on) do show it normally.

content).

Reproducible: Always
