Bug ID: 357848
Summary: Messages showing misc. problems during requesting IMAP
server resp. sending via SMTP in kmail2
Product: kmail2
Version: 4.14.7
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: commands and actions
Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: ra.be.baerlin at googlemail.com
Messages showing misc. problems during requesting IMAP server resp. sending via
SMTP
The Version of kmail2 is 4.14.10 on Linux vulture.ravenhome.org
4.2.8-200.fc22.x86_64.
I can not remember having seen these problems at any time before the last
update of the kontact-akonadi-bundle.
# 1
I set up a regular sync with the gmail account. I do have the impression that
the notification according to gmail shows up following each request at the
server. I did not checked what happens if I switch off this mail checking.
The notification reads: <mail address>: Multiple merge candidtes, aborting
# 2
I saw this issuse the first time ever today. This may be due to the fact that
the account is not used frequently. Assuming that server means the one of the
ISP it is hard to understand the problem.
The message reads: <mail address>: Could not determine the UID for the newly
created message on the server
# 3
If a notification which may been the other side of the process as it appears
when sending a mail via this ISP. Looking at the KDE database the BAD Bogus
error where flagged as resolved a year ago. But this shows up in combination
with the two others.
The message reads: <mail address>: Store failed, server replied: A000024 BAD
Bogus attribute list in UID Store
Mail sending and receiving is possible on all mail account have been set up by
me.
There is no message truncation as in the former bug reports of the BAD Bogus
notification.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Simply starting kontact at login and waiting for incoming mails.
As mentioned above there seems to be no problem in sending or receiving mails.
It is annoying.
The text in the notification does not give an idea whether any misconfiguration
on this computer may have caused this or the minor problem is a result between
e-mail server and e-mail client kmail2.
Having checked the settings in kontact/akonadi twice there is nothing new or in
any way it should not be.
Currently there are no -devel rpms installed, so right now I can no trace back.
Sincerely
Ralf Bertelsmann
