            Bug ID: 355342
Summary: composer mangles mail text on forwarding or edit as
                    new
           Product: kmail2
           Version: Git (master)
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: composer
          Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: Martin at Lichtvoll.de

Since quite some time KMail mangles:

Hello Martin,

into

MartinHello ,

on forwarding a mail or editing it as new.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write a mail along the lines of the test I post below. Use the name of your
own identity tough. And send it to yourself.
2. Edit as new the mail from sent folder and/or forward mail you receive back

I use a mail like this for testing. As written, use you own name instead of
martin:

Hello Martin,

Martin wrote:

Something beautiful.

Yesterday Martin wrote:

A simple test whether KMail on forward mangles this.

On Thursday, the 28th of April 2056 Martin wrote and Martin thinks:

I don´t know what I will write at this time.

Hello Laurent,

Actual Results:
I get this:

MartinHello ,

Martin wrote:

Something beautiful.

On forwarding I see the issue also in forwarding header:

Betreff: Test
Datum: Samstag, 14. November 2015, 17:16:46 CET
MartinVon: Steigerwald <martin at somenotexistingdomain.notexist>
MartinAn: Steigerwald <martin at somenotexistingdomain.notexist>

MartinHello ,
[…]

Expected Results:
The same text as I wrote above.

I can test whether this also happens in KDEPIM 1 at work next week.

Git master is of about 2-3 days ago. The issue persists since months tough, but
never got around to report it.
