Maybe "not usable" is a bit overstating (and ungenerous), but from my
experience I cannot say better than "painful". Larx's opinion therefore seems
like a reasonable (or: sensible) line of reasoning to me. In spite of this, it
could still be totally incorrect, if the aim of framework rewriting is
precisely at targeting some fundamental and unresolved source of problems
affecting the first version.
