I get this using Kontact 4.14.4, but seen it since several updates.

I get this against my work e-mail against Exchange imap server. The trigger
seems to be when I delete some messages from my Android phone, then delete some
on my desktop via KMail.

Emptying the trash folder on the exchange account seems to clear this up, until
the next time I mix deletes. I notice that once I empty the trash, the messages
stop, but previously deleted emails show up in the trash folder.
