knotes stores data locally
Apple-Stickies are able to store data in IMAP-Structures
Owncloud has a webdav-api

i would like to see knotes catch up with recent technologies .. i like to use
knotes on the same sources i use Stickies on iphone 

so from my POV knotes needs a backend change
