This bug still exists for me in KDE 4.12.1, using Akregator 1.6.6 on SolydK
(based on Debian Testing). Unfortunatey, I didn't check if this happens with
the preconfigured Linux- and KDE-related feeds, as well. I directly deleted
them and imported my feedlist as opml. The right-click menu showed the checkbox
for the date column, but the column was missing. Deleting akretatorrc solved
the issue.
