I can add on this. Created the IMAP account with server-side subscriptions
enabled accidentially.  
Inbox, and only Inbox, not "writable". 
All folders below work normal and I can move mails in- and outside. 
Deleting the IMAP account from the list and re-adding it again without
server-side subscriptions worked well - now also Inbox is writable. 
Maybe another fact is of importance (I actually do not know): on my mail server
all folders reside as subfolders of "Inbox", so "Inbox" is the only top level
folder.
