Oops, sorry.
Everything's fine when there's no default collection set, a dialog appears to
select the collection and shows all available collections as it should.

If there's an invalid collection set, an error dialog pops up asking whether
you want to select a collection (unlocalized and with typos, I think that's
fixed in master). If you choose "Yes", the dialog to pick the collection is
empty.
As I said, I'm going to open a new bug report for this.

And I also can reproduce that knotes often doesn't remember the default
collection when you set it in the settings, as mentioned in comment#10.
I will file this separately as well.
