I have detailed folder tree (~40 folders) some of them having ~20k mails (~100k
mails sum).
Selecting a new folder containing ~20k mails needs some minutes, while kmail
continuously rearranges the display.
If I select all mails in the folder (pressing Ctrl+A) it takes about 5-6
minutes.
I tried to apply filters on this selection (pressing Ctrl+J) and I had to kill
Kmail after half of an hour running.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create ~40 folders with corresponding mail selection rules
2. Download ~100k mails
Actual Results:  
I had an older Debian system and I also tried it on a newly installed OpenSuSE
system with the same result.
I did not change the default settings.

Expected Results:  
Some years ago I had similar system (on a significantly slower machine) having
>300k mails and it worked with at most some seconds response time.
Unfortunately I do not remember the versions.
