            Bug ID: 333750
Summary: search finds mails but doesn't show them in the search
                    dialog
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: kmail2
           Version: 4.13
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: search
          Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: piedro.kulman at googlemail.com
                CC: me at vhanda.in

WHen I search for mail I get the message "xy number of results" but none shows
in the search window. When I name the search folder and save it I can browse
the results but there is no way to edit and adjust the specific settings for
this search.

These behaviours make serious searching near to impossible. It is rare to get
the search conditions exactly right the first time. So there has to be the
possibility to readjust them after the first search run: maybe add another
folder or tweak a search string for more precise results ...

While this is definitely true for search folders that have to be revisited
another day - say you search for all emails of a customer in different folders
and he/she uses different mail addresses. now you have this folder running
during a project and the customer starts using an additional email address -
now there has to be the possibility to add this to the folder - certainly and
foremost the resulting mails of the initial search run in the search dialog
window have to show up! Otherwise the only way to check the accuracy of the
search filter criteria is to save the unrevised search as folder which in turn
can't be adjusted.

So again the search is completely useless - the easy stuff can be done with the
quickfilters the complicated stuff can't be handled reliably with the search
function... but baloo clogs resources for email fulltext indexing (only useful
for complex searching) ... not good, I am afraid, this bug makes kmail2 users
loose on more than one front ...

sry and thx for reading,
piedro
