Bug ID: 325084
Summary: Search folder from kmail should not appear in kjots
Classification: Unclassified
Product: kontact
Version: 4.11.1
Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: mail
Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: piedro.kulman at googlemail.com
After doing a search in kmail I get a search folder in kmail. This one stays in
kmail and I can modify the search by right clicking the search folder and
choosing "find messages".
However: In Kontact I open the notes tab that shows the Kjots notebooks. For
some reason that is beyond me the same search folder (the one from kmail) shows
up in kjots (though it shows no content here!).
This should not happen, right?
Well, I deleted the empty search folder in Kjots. Going back to kmail to my
dismay I find the search folder has disappeared here also! No big deal, I
thought, and wanted to setup the search again. But now when I try to set up a
new search by using the "find message" with the same settings for search
criteria as before I get a "no such collection" error.
I had to open a new bug here because I don't know what all this relates to,
sorry for that.
In addition
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a search in kmail2
2. open kjots and find the search folder here
3. delete the folder and try to set it up again in kmail
Actual Results:
"no such collection" error prevents setting up the same search folder again ...
(even after restarting kmail or kontact
Expected Results:
- search shouldn't show up in kjots
- deleted searches should not prevent setting up the same search again
Imho Kjots is very buggy and doesn't progress anymore. It should be removed
from Kontact asap and replaced by a different notetaking application such as
"Basket" or a Zim Clone or a Evernote Integration ... it is really hard to get
Kjots running as expected and it is not well integrated in anything on the
desktop ...
just my 2c,
thx for reading,
piedro
