Ok, I have it reliably crashing a few seconds after clicking restart in Dr
Konqi - here's an excerpt from .xsession-errors:

The "...Trimming plain text content..." lines appear whether the feeder is
running or crashed.

Would a core dump or a full copy of my .xsession-errors be helpful?
