The last updates have solved the problem, akregator works fine now. 
In the meantime I had some serious problems with akonadi (not working, mysqld
occupying a whole processor), but the last updates seem to have solved them so
far, except for some strong and weird glitches (looks like mysql is the
main-culprit). It's the same set of updates that solved the akregator problem.
