Bug ID: 320341
Summary: links to <a name="anchor"> within a message are not
followed (they used to be in earier version)
Classification: Unclassified
Product: kmail2
Version: unspecified
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: ahn567 at gmail.com
I just upgraded from stable Debian 6 (squeeze) to stable Debian 7 (wheezy).
For Debian 7 (wheezy): KMail Version 1.13.7 Using KDE Development Platform
4.8.4 (4.8.4)
Kmail no longer follows links within a message, Eg. from a contents table at
the top of a message to
later paragraphs in the same message. It used to work.
I had a look at the source of one such email. The anchor tags were of the form
<a name="here">
and the links of the form <a href="#here">. Perhaps kmail is now expecting
id= rather than
name= . Or maybe neither of these are working anymore?
B.T.W. The Kmail editor seems to have no way to compose a tag of the form <a
name="gohere"> or
<a id="here">. I could only see how to compose an <a href= >.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Read an email with an html anchor tag in it (name= or id=) and try to jump
to the anchor by following a link within the message.
Actual Results:
Links to anchors within the same message are not followed (nothing happens when
such a link is clicked).
Expected Results:
The message viewer should display the message from the position of the anchor
(ie. the anchor should be positioned at the 1st line in the message viewer
window)
I noticed this bug when using kmail to read emails of a Yahoo group digest.
