did your kleopatra.rc get lost or trashed?

make sure you have a kleopatra.rc in
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kleopatra/kleopatra.rc
(or wherever your distro puts it)

make sure it has a section for the Search Toolbar  and an action name for
key_search_bar
