I have a similar problem where the Imap server refuses to accept the login due
to exceeding the number of allowable connections.

It happens frequently but not always. Only one of the four accounts I have
configured is affected. If I close kmail and wait a while, often it will
connect successfully. After a successful connection is made I have no further
problems during that user session.

The "Server Info" for the affected account is
