The same here with freshly updated openSUSE tumbleweed KDE 4.10.3. 

BTW, I have seen a very similar behaviour description for bug #320180.

I wonder whether it is possible to detect this situation by any log at the
client side. The akonadi output at .xsession-errors does not tell me. The only
way for me to detect this is to monitor the network traffic (and to wait for
complaints by our mail admin).
