Upgraded from Kubuntu 10.04 to 12.04. 
Initial run failed the migration; error message said to rerun kmail-migrate but
refused to run because "already run". 
Now when I try to start kmail I get the error message "could not create
collection inbox resourceid: 2" and it shuts down immediately. 
Muon shows all software up-to-date.
Searched; no apparent relevant bugs.
