After updating akonadi, kdepimlibs, kdepim-runtime and kdepim a few days ago
kmail (used in kontact) began failing at times to lead emails. The progress
indicator says it is sync'ing a folder (the exact folder changes between
events) an then it simply gets stuck.

The folder listing continues to list mails (and the tooltip may even continue
to show the first lines of the email).

Once this happens, switching to any other folder similarly "sticks" and no
email will load when clicked.

This seemed reminiscent of another recent bug in which deleting 
~/.config/akonadi/agent_config_akonadi_maildir_resource_0_changes.dat would
resolve it temporarily .. this does not seem to have any effect this time.

Usually simply restarting kmail/kontact will resolve the issue until it gets
hit again. Sometimes it seems to reliably get stuck on the same mails .. but
then it will magically show that email and some other one will trigger the
problem.

This makes kmail essentially unusable when configured with any maildir folders.
