            Bug ID: 300868
          Severity: major
           Version: unspecified
          Priority: NOR
          Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
Summary: No feedback when wrong POP password is entered.
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux
          Reporter: sombragris at sombragris.org
          Hardware: Slackware Packages
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
         Component: general
           Product: kmail2

If one chooses not to use KWallet and input the POP mail account passwords
before checking mail, one is presented wih an authentication dialog asking for
a POP password.

The problem is that if one happens to enter a wrong password, there is
absolutely no indication that the POP login failed. KMail behaves as if there
is no new mail, and that's it.

This behavior is misleading to users. An user may think he has no mail when
what really happened was that he entered a wrong password.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disable KWallet on the system. Launch KMail.
2. Check your POP mail account.
3. Enter a wrong password.
Actual Results:
Nothing.

Expected Results:
Feedback - perhaps a message telling us: "The login failed. Reason: Wrong
user/password combination. Check your credentials and try again / ok / cancel"

Thanks for all the hard work :)
