I have the same issue.  This happened on several of my machines(XP and Windows
7)  I found the problem to be with a password utility I use, avast 'EastPass'. 
The workaround was to disable the taskbar utility, start 'kleopatroa', then I
could again start  'easy pass;'

Please let me know if you require anymore information
