I'm getting the same problem in KDE 4.8.2, kubuntu 12.04. Reading any email
takes like 20-30 seconds to show up, disabling nepomuk had no effect.

I have tried restarting akonadi, kmail and nepomuk without success, nothing
relevant is shown in kmail's output. Have to test with a full system restart.
