[Bug 299223] When I run filters, the "Conflict Resolution" dialog box keeps popping up

I have just amended a filter and manually re-run filters.  Of my 700 emails,
last time it flagged up 40 or so requiring "Conflict resolution".  This time it
has done so over 150 times.  I have to pick "Keep Both" as the poorly-designed
dialog box makes it too hard to visually compare the differences.

I now have 973 emails so there must be about 250 potential duplicates now, with
no easy way or working out which of each I need to keep.

What is the conflict that needs resolving?
Why does it do this?
