I might have a similar problem. When writing a new mail, I put the email
address in and start typing the message, kmail crushes.
My system is:
Linux 3.1.9-1.4-desktop x86_64
System:  openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64)
KDE:  4.8.1 (4.8.1) "release 481"
