I confirm the bug since KDE 4.8
I don't use Network Manager, but my internet connection is instable. If kmail
dettecs the lack of internet, automatically switch all IMAP accounts to
"Offline". But when the connection is restablished, the folders remain in
offline mode. The clicks in the message "Kmail is in offline mode. Click here
to switch online" are ignored.
If i close Kmail and reopen it, it show a message saying "Kmail is now in
offline mode. Do you want to continue?". If i click in "Work online", the
problem is fixed, but only in the selected IMAP folder. I need do the same for
each IMAP account

PD: the descripted messages can vary, because i use the spanish translation
