I have excalty the same problem. I tried both the libdbusmenu-qt2-0.9.0-2.1.2
(which is the original package) and  libdbusmenu-qt2-0.9.2-18.1 (which comes
with KDE 4.8.4). The result is the same - KMail crashes opening the mail editor
without any feedback.
