This bug is partly still valid for kmail2 (using KDE 4.8.4).

Choosing a different header style in a particular message window leads to the
beahviour that this header style is displayed for all other new separatly
opened message windows in this kmail/kontact session but no longer present
after a kmail restart.

Choosing a different header style from the main kontact/kmail window is
remembered between sessions.
