I have tested KMail2 again and again and now I get the same behavior on 4.8.0
too.

Is it that KMail (or whatever the actual process behind it) cannot properly
handle multiple tasks simultaneously, eg. syncing the account and retrieving a
message from the account?

And why is the bug's status WAITINGFORINFO?
