I'm seeing the message "Unknown error. (Unable to fetch item from backend)"
twice on each KDE/plasma-desktop startup, so I'd say it's not a KMail2 but an
Akonadi issue.

The message comes from server/src/handler/fetchhelper.cpp, line 228.
