Summary: Output message can't be sent and vanishes
           Product: kmail2
           Version: 4.8
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: abrahams at acm.org

Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

When I try to send a message via SMTP, I get the bad password message. What's
worse is that the message then vanishes. It's not in the outbox, it's not in
Sent Messages, and it's not in Trash.

I tried disabling the stored password, but I never was asked for it when I
tried to send the message. I got the Bad Password message in this case even
though I never got to provide a password.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Send a message via an SMTP account.

Actual Results:
Bad Password message, followed by a transient message "Local folders: failed to
change flag for message". Email message then vanishes.

Expected Results:
The message should be sent.
