BUT: Before I delete the whole Akonadi database (recreating it will render my
computer unusable for many, many hours ... I already did that twice with
versions prior to 4.7.4 and that were horrible experiences I would want to
avoid going through again):

Is there any way to manually empty the mail cache without deleting everything
else? From a naive point of view, it should be possible to delete all mail
bodies stored in the database with a simple SQL query?

I have no problem fiddling with SQL queries but I am completely unfamiliar with
the Akonadi database structure and I would be glad about some pointers ...
