I'd suggest the same, enable the imap logging and select the involved folders
to see if it is the imap communication that has a bug or KMail displaying it.
Please also check your folders in akonadiconsole, Browser tab if they show the
right mails or not (akonadiconsole is slow showing the mails, so please have
patience).
