Does this have to do with the Filter scanning for viruses, by any chance?
I had set up such a filter (using clamd and the Filter autoconfiguration
wizard) and that filter made all incoming emails blank. (It didn't save the
originals, though.) Luckily I switched the filter off after a few hours!
