well, the Contacts issue is sort of "off-bug" but a comment I found on
kdeforums hint that autocompletion has been disabled in 4.8.x due to some
coding problem. See here

I can not vouch for the truth of this but I have tried various 4.8.x installs
and found that autocompletion is gone. So I stay on 4.7.4 myself and hope for
4.9 to fix this
