I don't know exactly what I did, but after fiddling with the folder options I
talked about in the previous comment, the slowness has disappeared (again).

It now takes between instant and ~2 seconds to display any mail content, even
in the big folders.

Perhaps a configuration file hasn't been correctly written during update ? My
options are the same as before, but without any problem now.

I hope that answer could help people experiencing this kind of bug.
