            Bug ID: 298136
          Severity: wishlist
           Version: 4.8.2
          Priority: NOR
          Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
Summary: notification about "connection to server lost" should
                    be more tolerant
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux
          Reporter: m.wege at web.de
          Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
         Component: general
           Product: kmail2

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.34 (KHTML,
like Gecko) rekonq Safari/534.34
Build Identifier:

I quite often receive a notification about the connection to the server been
lost. This happens for example when I move from cable connection to wifi and
vica versa. Or when the internet connection is slow and the connection to the
server ist lost for a moment. The problem about this is that when the
notification has arrived, the connection has already been reestablished and is
quite useless and is distracting. I would suggest to show the notification only
when the connection is lost and can not be reestablished within a certain time
frame. I do not know what is reasonable, may be 5 or 10 seconds. In this case
the notification would only be shown when it really matters, when it is likely
that the reason for the interruption will last longer.

Reproducible: Always
