--- Comment #2 from Alexandre Bonneau <alexandre.bonneau at linuxfr.eu> ---
The bug is still present in 4.8.2, although its behavior is a bit different
since you are not stuck in a deadend and can somehow manage to return to a
stable state using a few times the quicksearch.

Steps to Reproduce:
- Select a mail folder like 'local inbox' (maildir format in my case, with some
unread mails. The total count of unread mails is 23, and total mails 1069)
- Type "kde" in the folder quicksearch field (just under the favorite icons)
- all the mail folders containing "kde" are shown in the folder list. The mail
list is still showing the previous mails from the 'local inbox' folder, without
any selected one.
- when selecting one of those folders, the message list doesn't change (as you
can only see mails from the previously selected folder, 'local inbox' in this
exemple), BUT the first unread email in that message list get selected (and
displayed). (BUG)
- if I select a different folder, the emails of that folder get 'mixed up' with
the current 'local inbox' folder (BUG)
- if I reselect the very first filtered folder, I can only see the content of
the 'local inbox' folder, without any mail from that selected folder
- if you clear the quicksearch folder with the little black arrow, the folder
list is displayed correctly again, with the 'local inbox' automatically
selected.
- if you select another folder, then you have a random behavior ; sometimes its
content is displayed accordingly (so the previous 4.8.1 bug seems to have
disappeared), sometimes it doesn't. You have to toy with the quicksearch when
the bug is there to somehow reset the bug to a normal state.
