As for me, the situation looks like this

My "Local Folders" are:
Identifier: akonadi_maildir_resource_3
Type: Maildir
(~/.local/share/local-mail)

But some older mail is stored in "KMail Folders" which have different
characteristics:
Identifier: akonadi_mixedmaildir_resource_2
Type: KMail Maildir
(~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/mail)
