That was due to my attempts to find a way to overcome other issue I am having
with calendars - inability to add a new event or view any of the existing ones
(although perfectly browsable with akonadiconsole). 
But I saw that this has already been reported.

The KCal resource in deprecated in kdepim >= 4.6.0,
Please set up an ical resource pointing to the same file or URL instead.
