I had this, this morning, with uptodate 4.7 branch.

"qdbus | grep -C5 org.kde.pim.SpecialCollections" showed that one of the imap
resources still had the lock registered (i.e. it had acquired the name
org.kde.pim.SpecialCollections and had not released it), so I restarted akonadi
and kmail, and everything was fine then.
Simply killing/restarting the imap resource might have been enough, too.

No idea why this happens, nor why restarting akonadi was apparently not enough
for some posters here.
