my du -sh ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
496K    /home/sergio/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
when 
du -sh ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail 
1.2G    /home/sergio/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail

for your own good backup ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail is the real folder of
your email .
