Here is the manual workaround for this grave bug:

- In KMail 1.13 right click on the Local Folders > sent mail folder and select
"archive folder"
- Select the best method you want (.tar is fast, .bz2 compresses good) to save
the file
- Upgrade to KDEPIM 4.7 and try to migrate…
- After you successfully started KMail, select File > Import messages > Import
KMail archive file > select the "Local folders" text (and not the "sent-mail"
label!) > Next

It will take a while, especially when you have a large inbox.
