I can confirm this, but it seems that they (Diaspora*) are working on the
notification emails now.
It had been disabled for a day but now they are coming again and without the
double <<>> as in:

from: "XXXXXX (Diaspora*)" <"DIASPORA*" <no-reply at joindiaspora.com>>

Now they have the correct format:

from: "no-reply at joindiaspora.com" <no-reply at joindiaspora.com
