Messages received in Gmail have strangely missing line breaks when sent through
Kmail.  (FWIW, I tried opening a bug in KMail and that is closed... so I'm
starting here.)

Basically, if I write a message like this:

Hello,

My name is John.

Nice to meet you.
__
John
---

It comes out like this:
---
Hello,
My name is John.
Nice to meet you.
__
John
---

I have tried a number of settings changes to my messages to see if that will
help but it does not.  This is particularly troublesome with long emails as it
mashes things together.  I have tried adding more new lines in my message, but
they seem to get stripped.  What's up with that?
