Christophe: Thanks for the response. I am now on openSUSE 11.4
(2.6.37.1-1.2-desktop), KDE 4.6.2 Release 3 KMail (1.13.7). I have posted a
screen shot of what is doing today:

This was a fresh install of the whole system.
